John Hummel is a partner at Fleener Petersen Law. John has devoted his 30 years of professional experience to seeking justice. He began his career as a public defender, defending the rights of people of low income charged with crimes ranging from theft to homicide. John then worked in private practice, representing clients charged with serious crimes in state and federal court. Most recently, John served eight years as an elected prosecutor; this experience is invaluable to his current clients as John understands how to assess a case from the defense and government perspectives.

In addition to John’s experience as a trial attorney, he worked in health care policy, higher education (including teaching at universities in the U.S. and internationally), for the judicial department, and overseas in international development.
